Halifax reports 2.6% rise in house prices
Tuesday, 21 July 2009

The Halifax reported an improved property market after announcing that house prices rose by 2.6 per cent rise in May.

Similarly improving house prices have been reported by Nationwide, Hometrack and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors this month.

The Halifax is therefore confident that the housing market is beginning to stabilise, although it cautions against: "It is always important not to place too much weight no any one month's figures," says Nitesh Patel, a housing economist at the Halifax.

"Historically, house prices have not moved in the same direction month after month even during a pronounced downturn - house sales remain substantially below their long term average and market conditions are expected to remain difficult with housing activity continuing at low levels over the coming months."

But despite this caution, it is not difficult to spot some relief at the Halifax that the worse could be over following 18 months of near mayhem in the market.

For example, it points out that although the underlying trend is still down with prices on average expected to drop by 16.3 per cent this year the rate of decline is slowing and price drops are now running at approximately half that of a year ago.

Nicholas Clegg Sponsors Stubbins School Netball Team
Wednesday, 20 February 2008

Girls at Stubbins Primary School have netted a new kit ahead of the competition season.

The netball team received new jackets, trousers, skirts and T-shirts from the school's parent-teacher association, after clinching a sponsorship deal with Ramsbottom estate agent Nicholas Clegg.

Netball coach Laura Taylor said: "This is a much valued new purchase. The old kit was really not worth wearing any more."

Currently 20 girls from Year 5 and Year 6 attend weekly netball practice at the school in Bolton Road North. A team of seven will be selected to play other schools in a mini-league competition.

100% OFT Endorsement
Tuesday, 15 January 2008

In November 2007 Nicholas Clegg was independently audited by the Office of Fair Trading and received a 100% endorsement from the clients they surveyed.

This comes as no surprise to the staff of Nicholas Clegg or their clients, who have consistently rated the Nicholas Clegg service as "Excellent"!
